Melanie Robertson-King: History and Romance In the Wilds of Scotland
Canadian author, Melanie Robertson-King, lives in eastern Ontario along the shore of the majestic St. Lawrence River. The daughter of a Scottish Home Child, she began writing articles (all historical in nature) which have been published in Canada, the US and the UK. In addition to writing, her interests include genealogy (especially the study of Home Children), photography and travel. On one of her trips to Scotland, she had the honor of meeting The Princess Royal. A Shadow in the Past is her first novel.
The Consequences Collection, an eclectic compilation of shorts (fiction, creative non-fiction, non-fiction and poetry), has recently been released for the kindle and will be coming soon in print.
Melanie took a foray into children’s books in the summer of 2015, and wrote the chapter book, Tim’s Magic Christmas.
In the spring of 2016, she launched her paranormal, romantic suspense novel, The Secret of Hillcrest House.
Melanie is also a contributing author, with her short story Cole’s Notes, to Carrick Publishing’s EFD1: Starship Goodwords – a cross genre anthology.
Catching Up With Melanie
I’m thrilled to report back on the results of my A Shadow in the Past book tour. It couldn’t have worked out better. At the Central Library in Aberdeen, where I donated a copy to their Local Studies Department for helping me with my research, I sold 3 copies. Pretty good for an unknown commodity.
Then, at my ‘official’ Scottish launch on 17th August at the Rannes Hall in Kennethmont, Aberdeenshire, I sold … drum roll, please … 17 copies! Hmm… 17 on the 17th, coincidence?
After that, I sold two more, so in total my trip resulted in me selling 22 paperbacks and on amazon during the month of August, I sold 17 kindle versions!
I like August.
Continuing with the “I like August” theme, so far August has the makings of a record-setting month for sales of The Secret of Hillcrest House.
